Evidence
Since all of the deaths were considered natural, there were never any studies or investigations done on the victims. Sometimes food poisoning was question but ruled accidental. Nannie Doss was just too good and covering up her murders. She was also an excellent actress and convince anyone that she was just as devastated as they were. It wasn't until her last husband died that anyone became suspicious. Sam Doss had been in the hospital for a while and was released when the doctors decided that he was healthy. A day later he died and they knew it couldn't have been of natural causes. An autopsy was completed on the body and they found large amounts of arsenic in the body. Since Nannie was the only one in contact with Sam, they knew it was her and pressured her until she confessed.
The other bodies were recovered and when examined, they found the poison in them as well. Nannie was known to put the poison in the coffee or some sort of food containing prunes.
